Our normal monthly ride has been re-scheduled to Sunday 22nd May at 5.00pm. We will be meeting at the Canal Basin and cycling to the Marina.
Our next ChiCycle meeting will be on Tuesday 24th May at 8.00pm at 13 Whyke Lane.
National Bike Week Event on Sunday 26th June 2011
It is my great pleasure to invite you to Chichester’s “Cycling Sunday” Bike Week Event which is taking place in Chichester College Car Park on Sunday 26th June between 11.00am and 4.00pm.
At the event we will be offering:
- Free Cycling lessons on the hour
- Free Bike Marking
- Free Bike Maintenance sessions
- Free helmet fitting service
- Chance to climb in an HGV and see the road from a lorry driver’s point of view
- Free teas and coffees and water for participants
- Stands from Sustrans, ChiCycle and 20′s Plenty for Chichester
- High-viz vests and bicycle bells to give away
- 2 bike shops will be represented on the day
- Caroline’s Dairy ice-cream on sale from a “stop-me and buy one bike”
- Face painting
- A culture cycle ride round Chichester will be leaving from the Car Park at 2.00pm
This event has been planned and coordinated with the support of CDC, WSCC, Steve Porter Transport and Sustrans.
Bike Week Rides
- Tuesday 21st June meet at 6.00pm at the Cross for a ride to Dell Quay
- Thursday 23rd June meet at 6.00pm at the Cross for a ride to Pagham
- Sunday 26th June meet at 2.00pm at the College Car Park for a cultural ride around Chichester
Bike Jumble and Fundraising Funday
Sunday 13th February, 13 Whyke Lane from 11.00am to 7.00pm
There will be lots to do for all the family:
- Ceramic painting thanks to Garage Ceramics (20% to ChiCycle)
- Cotton bag painting
- Bike biscuit decorating and/or eating
- Raffle with lots of prizes
- Bike Badges for sale thanks to Pretty Scruffy of Cooper Street
- Snoods, bike lanterns, bike bunting, bike lavender bags for sale
- Soaps and bath treats thanks to Bubble and Fizz Soaps (20% to ChiCycle)
We have also been offered some fun, taster self-help sessions for £5.00 for 10 minutes – all the proceeds going to ChiCycle.
We have lots of 20′s Plenty stickers for wheelie bins, cars, windows and bikes (for donation please).
Free Entry, but please do bring some money or a cheque book. The only thing which is free is signing the 20′s Plenty petition!
Our first themed bike Ride with a Scottish/Burns theme
Sunday 30th January 2:00pm
We will lead a gental cycle ride around the City to promote cycling. Afterwards meet at the Chichester Inn, West Street, for shortbread, bike poems and to plan February’s ride. All welcome! Dress in tartan and decorate your bike. Prize for the best outfit!
